You may have heard the line, "There is nothing new under the sun." This line comes from Ecclesiastes 1:9 in the Old Testament: "What has been will be again. What has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun."
What does this mean to us? What does it say about the culture? And how does it influence the way we work, strive for improvement, and understand our purpose?
Embracing Collective Creativity
Creativity often stems from collective thoughts and effective communication. We don't create in isolation. As the verse implies, we gather thoughts, experiences, and ideas that have been seen or done before. We recreate and innovate based on past knowledge.
Our company has thirty-seven years of history serving customers in the four-state area. Over the years, we've developed numerous best practices that have propelled us forward. At the same time, we've learned many ways to solve problems incorrectly or for the wrong reasons. We've made mistakes, and from those mistakes, we've learned valuable lessons about what not to do.
The Importance of Teamwork and Communication
This is why teamwork within and across our branch locations is critical. Communication is a cornerstone of our success. It unites us in our mission and fosters the creativity needed to achieve more collectively than we ever could individually.
By supporting each other and sharing proven solutions, we can apply these solutions more quickly, effectively, and safely. As our relationships grow, so does our level of trust. By adding value through creativity and determination, we can significantly impact solving problems.
A Real-World Example of Creativity
Consider the workforce shortage problems that many skilled trades face around our communities. We took a proactive approach by developing a relationship with a local community college. What started with one college expanded to two. Today, we conduct quarterly lifecycle and HR calls, enhancing our collaboration and building trust with new relationships in schools at each branch. We still have a long way to go, but the wheels are beginning to turn. This is creativity in action!
The Value of Collaboration
"Being in a band is always a compromise. Provided that the balance is good, what you lose in compromise, you gain by collaboration." — Mike Rutherford, guitarist and singer.
"In teamwork, silence isn't golden. It's deadly." — Mark Sanborn, speaker and author.
Do you want to solve more customer problems, unlock more opportunities and knowledge, or increase sales? Collaboration is the key!
Have a great sales week!
